Time Travel

A quote from Einstein:

Since there exists in this four dimensional structure [space-time] no longer any sections which represent "now" objectively, the concepts of happening and becoming are indeed not completely suspended, but yet complicated. It appears therefore more natural to think of physical reality as a four dimensional existence, instead of, as hitherto, the evolution of a three dimensional existence.

So what was Einstein saying? Einstein proved that time is relative, not absolute as Newton claimed.

So today is relative. Oldest Daughter graduates high school.

She used to be Baby Girl. But now? There's another Baby Girl, an Oldest Son, and a Demon Baby. And today, Oldest Daughter moves on to a new adventure in life.

Time is relative. I just don't know where it goes.

Thoughts?

Well, congrats to Oldest Daughter. And time sure flies.

I'll leave you with my thoughts on time and space today before I rush off to the airport to fly to Houston for the week.

Times flies like an arrow.
Fruit flies like a banana.

Congrats!

Remind your daughter and all the grads that the our most common device measuring the realtionship between time and space--the speedometer--should be kept at a safe maximum.

Hope everyone enjoys the big day!

Einstein was almost right. Time is a plate of spaghetti, full of possible futures and pasts, and we're all meatballs.

He he.

Congrats to Oldest Daughter!

Not going to go in circles trying to comment intelligently, just going to pass the time with a plate of pasta.

Past, present, future all collide in this moment. We bring our hurts, joys, fears, lessons of the past mix liberally with hopes, dreams, fears of the future and apply to the situation of the now.

I attended a conference where Shad Helmstetter (Self-Talk Solution books) was a speaker. He talked about snapping his fingers at the same moment in time every year and that single snap brought all those moments together.

Congratulations! I want to hear all about her adventures in college. :-) Wish her good luck from me!

Time? All I know is that time takes FOREVER when you're waiting for something, and quick as a blink when you're having fun.

Definitely relative. :-)

Congratulations to oldest daughter, Erica... is this one of those, 'I swear I just brought you home from the hospital in a baby blanket' moments for you? Those seem to be sneaking up on me lately, and then I kick myself for grumbling over the lost writing time keeping up with the kids.

congratulations to oldest! Wow! They grow up so quickly. My 9 year old is nearly as tall as me. Pretty soon I'll be crying at her graduation.

SO true, When I am stressing, time passes SO slow. When I am happy, it's the blink of an eye.

All I can say, is as I was BAWLING, I thought, "My God, I get to do this THREE more times." And the last one won't be for 16 years.

I will be REALLY old.

But regarding your question, I'm in severe denial. Time stands still when I want it to. It does. Really.

LOL. All I know is four kids have shown me it stands still for no one.

Though there was one brief moment yesterday when my heart stopped at how happy she looked, and then . . . time did stop for a moment.
